I have taste these tangy flavored kovaikkai back in India in one of my relative long back. The taste was so good. At that time I wasn't into cooking so just brush off the taste and completely forgotten about that. As I was waiting for son at the bus-stop-some of the ladies were discussing about what they prepared for lunch and other stuffs. I heard one of them mention about adding yogurt to koavikkai poriyal. My memory of having them flashed back and here I am sharing that recipe with all!!

Serving Size: 4

For The Yogurt Coconut Sauce:
2tbsp fresh home-made curd
2tbsp freshly grated coconut
1/2tsp fennel seeds
a pinch oh hing powder
1/2tsp chillies powder

Add 1tsp ghee to wok and roast all the ingredients and then grind them a paste-set aside.

1 cup kovaikkai sliced lengthwise
1 cup chopped shallots
1/2tsp onion seeds
1tsp cumin seeds
1tsp mustard seeds
2tsp coriander powder
1/2tsp turmeric powder
1/4tsp grama masala
