Podalangai/Snake Groud Kootu

Serving Size:4

3 medium sized podalangai diced
1/4 cup moong daal
1/2 cup toor daal
3 garlic cloves minced finely
1 green chillie
1tbsp sambar powder
1/2tsp turmeric powder
1tsp salt
1/4tsp hing powder
1 cup sliced onions
1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
2,5 cup warm water
1tsp mustard seeds
1tsp cumin seeds
5 curry leaves
3 dried chillies broken

Preparation Methods:
Coat the pressure cooker with 2tbsp oil and add minced garlic,green chillies ,chopped onions and tomatoes with salt, sambar and turmeric powder. Saute till onions and tomatoes become tender and add the daals and diced podalanga.Once the they are nicely mixed with the spice -pour 2.5 cup warm water and cook till 3 to 4 whistle. In a frying pan add 2tbsp oil-add mustard seeds. Once it starts to crack add dried chillies,curry leaves, mustard seeds,cumin and hing powder-pour over the podalangai and serve.

Serving Size: Makes abut 10 dosas

For the Paste:
3 large ripe tomatoes
5 dried chillies
3 garlic cloves
a small ginger root
1tsp fennel seeds
few spring of curry leaves
salt to taste
1tsp chopped mint leaves

Saute all the ingredients with 2tsp oil and grind to a very smooth paste once it's cooled. Keep aside.

1tsp mustard seeds
1tsp cumin seeds
a pinch hing powder
1tsp channa dal
1tsp ural dah

Preparation Methods:
Splutter all the ingredients expect the doas batter with 1tsp oil and mix in with the doas batter followed by the tomato paste. Mix them well. The batter is ready. Pour the batter in a swirling motion (like making regular dosas) on a hot pan. Drizzle some oil on it. When one side is cooked to a golden color, flip over and cook the other side.

What can I say!!!Pizza have become a popular item in my kitchen these days ever-since my son started his elementary school. We cannot be making various trips to Pizza Hut so now I'm making pizza at home. I'm kinda of getting lazy in prepare the dough at home as it time-consuming so I use the store brought pizza dough. I was grab a few tins of Pillsbury Pizza Doughs whenever I get the chance. My home-made sun dried to mates was a big hit- I have used them to prepare this aromatic pizza for dinner yesterday night but as compared to Pizza Hut. It still had my touch and love for my family :D
