Turkey Sausage Burger

Turkey Sausage Burger
Another attempted mine mine to prepare home made burgers and this time I thought of making the Sausage Burger that they serve in MD for breakfast. Those burger are made with pork sausage and I going to make a similar type of patties using turkey sausage instead. They taste exactly like those burgers from MD.

Serving Size: 4

1 cup minced turkey breast
1 cup minced turkey sausage
1.5tbsp fennel seed, lightly toasted
1tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1tsp allspice
Zest 1 orange
3tbsp finely chopped fresh herbs of your choice like rosemary,
1tsp onion powder
salt and pepper to taste

Ingredients for Assembling the burger:
cucumber slices
red onions
lettuce leaves
your choice of slice chesse

Preparation Methods:

Mix the minced turkey breast and turkey sausage in a bowl and add fennel seed, red pepper flakes, allspice, orange zest, your choice of fresh herb, onion powder salt and pepper, to taste. Mix the meat with seasonings and form even large patties. Make a shallow dent in each patty at the center of it to prevent the burger from bulging up as it cooks. Place the patties on the grill and cook 6 to 7 minutes on each side or until the patties are well cooked. To assemble, place burgers on bun bottoms and top with sliced red onion, cucumber and tomato, cheese and lettuce leaves.
