Crabs!!! Chili Crabs and Pepper Crabs are very popular in Singapore which happens to be our favorite dish-another popular taste bud among the locals and tourist. As a newly married couple we had Pepper Crab at Long Beach Seafood Restaurant in Upper East Coast Park in Singapore. It was so tasty that we didn't noticed that we splashed with pepper sauce on faces and clothes..Just image how tasty those crabs till we both didn't notice the mess we made. My hubby prepares excellent Pepper crab and I would like to share his recipe here. Normally Sir Lakan Crabs will be great to prepare this recipe but as we cannot find them here-we are using frozen snow crabs.

Serving Size:4

1 packet frozen snow crab
1 cup dry red wine
50g grounded black pepper
1 cup finely sliced shallots
1/4 cup finely minced Fire Roast Tomatoes Can
2tbsp ginger garlic paste
1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
1cup vegetable oil
Salt to taste

Preparation Methods:

First crack the crabs using the back of a heavy spoon.

Marinate them with red wine and 1tbsp of grounded black pepper for 3 hours.

Add 1 cup vegetable oil in a large frying pan and shallow fry the crab pieces.

Drain and keep aside.

Coat a heavy non-stick wok with 4tbsp oil and add ginger garlic paste. Once the oil starts to separate add the chopped onions and tomatoes. Saute till they become well fried and translucent.

Add the grounded pepper and the fried crabs. Let the crabs saute really well in oil and grounded pepper. Add the chopped coriander leaves and remove from flame. Serve hot with toasted french loaves or buns..
