Serving size:4

1 vazhai Thandu (Banana Stem)

2 green Chilies

1tsp minced garlic cloves

1 red onion chopped

1tsp mustard seeds

1/2tsp cumin seeds

1tsp channa dhal

salt to taste

few curry leaves

2tbsp chopperd coriander leaves

Coriander leaves – few

Preparation Methods:

Cut the stem into thin rounds and remove the excess thread. Then chop the round stems into small pieces and put it in water. Chop the green chillies. Take out the banana stem pieces from water and squeeze out completely.

Heat a medium pan with 2tbsp of oil and tamper the mustard,cumin, channa dhal,green chillies and curry leaves. Then add the chopped onions and fry tender the onions are slightly brown. Finally add the vazhai thendu with a little salt. Cover the pan with lid to let the thendu cooked till tender in the steam but opening occasionally to stir the mixture to prevent them from get burned or sticking to the pan. Adjust the level of salt and remove from flame. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with steaming white rice..
