Bittergourd Fry

Bittergourd has excellent medicinal virtue and has the ability to reduce diabetes. Bittergourd being rich in all the essential vitamins and minerals esp vitamin A.B1,B2, C and iron. It happens to be another one of my favorite dish as well as my hubby.In Singapore the Malays uses carrots and eggs are add to reduce the bitterness of the vegetable and it also taste good. Today I'm prepare normal bittergourd fry which is my in law's recipe which she used to prepare in India for my hubby.


Bittergourd Fry

Serving Size:4
Ingredients

1lb bittergourd cut lengthwise
1tsp chillie powder
1tsp garam masala
1/2tsp turmeric powder
1tsp salt
1tbsp curd
1 small onion sliced
3 dried chillies broken
1tsp mustard seeds
1tsp cumin seeds
1tbsp tomato paste
1tbsp chillie paste(any brand you can get hold of)
salt to taste

Preparation Methods:

Marinate the bittergourd slices with,turmeric,garam masala chillie,salt and curd for 2hrs.

Kuzhi Paniyaram

A very easy recipe from Tamil Nadu prepared with leftover dosai batter with onions and vegetable of one's choice in a paniyaram skillet which is just like the muffin pans..Various ways are there to preapre this simple yet tasty recipe and here's my version of Kuzhi Paniyaram. I'm using Moogal daal dosai batter for my recipe. Well I just add 1/2 cup moong daal with 2cups rice and 1 cup urad daal for my dosai recipe.

Ingredients

1 cup bowl moong daal dosai batter
1/2 cup finely chopped onions
1/2 cup finely chopped tomatoes
2 green chillies minced finely
1/4 cup finely chopped coriander leaves
1/4tsp hing powder
salt to taste

Preparation Methods:

Mix all the ingredients with the batter and keep aside. Heat the paniyaram skillet on a medium flame-brush the skillet with oil and pour a spoonful of the batter.


When the side starts to crisp turn the paniyaram over to the other side and let cook.
